The Mingbulak oil spill or Fergana Valley oil spill was a massive terrestrial oil spill that started on March 2, 1992 at the Mingbulak oil field in the Fergana Valley, Uzbekistan when a blowout occurred at well #5. It was the worst oil spill in the history of Asia. The oil coming out of the well caught fire and burnt for two months. The blowout resulted in the release of to per day.
